AOP awards and exhibition

AOP awards and exhibition go Beyond the Lens…

The Oscars of the image-making world, this year’s AOP awards will be presented at a special evening event on Thursday, 12 October at The Old Truman Brewery in London. Each year, over 3,500 entries are whittled down to just 300, all of which will be presented to an invited audience of 1,000 guests including photographers, commissioners, art-buyers and leading names in the creative industries.

The Awards include both the Photography Awards, where entry is restricted to AOP Photographer and Assisting Photographer members only; and the Open Awards, which everyone can enter.

Following on directly from the awards is a packed four-day image-making festival comprising an exhibition, workshops and talks titled Beyond the Lens, which begins Friday, 13 October. Photographers of all levels will find something to inform and inspire among the topics on offer, which range from practical software and hardware advice, to tips on brand development and storytelling. The free exhibition will showcase images from the awards, curated by industry leaders such as Editor of The Daily Telegraph, Chris Evans; Creative Review’s Art Director, Paul Pensom; and BBC’s Online Editor, Phil Coomes.
