Panasonic announces update for new Lumix S1H

The firmware programme comes in partnership with Atomos and seeks to improve upon the S1H’s professional-level video.

Panasonic has announced that a firmware development for its Lumix S1H mirrorless system is underway. The update will enable the output of maximum 5.9K/29.97p Raw video data to the Atomos Ninja V 4K HDR monitor-recorder over HDMI.

With this firmware program, Apple ProRes Raw can be recorded on Atomos’s Ninja V. This is just one more step taken by Panasonic to ensure the already-impressive video capabilities of the S1H are of a professional standard.

The programme is scheduled to be launched in early 2020.
