Benro SupaDupa monopods arrive

Posted on Feb 24, 2021

With many popular tripod options for photographers across the board, the Benro SupaDupa monopod range now seeks to redefine the standards. The three new options may be of particular appeal to travel, sports and wildlife photographers, with an option for entry-level photographers, enthusiasts and professionals. All monopods in the range are made from quality carbon fibre, feature twist-lock and flip-lock systems and come with a clever foot design for maximum stability.

The entry-level MSD36C is the most affordable and most compact of the Benro SupaDupa monopods. Fully extended, it stands at 1.64m, collapsing down to 42cm when not in use and weighing just 0.5kg for easy portability. It can safely support a load of 40kg and comes with the options of a spiked foot for soft terrain and a rubber foot for solid ground. The MSD36C is priced at £110.

Next is the taller MSC46C, which extends to 1.83m at its tallest and 45.5cm at its most compact. While they can support the same load, it sees the addition of a fully waterproof shell and a unique round, rotating foot with v-shaped metal bearing over the entry-level model, designed for greater stability and smooth movement. The spiked foot is also included and this option is priced at £130.

Benro SupaDupa PRO MSDPL46C monopod

The professional option, the flagship PRO MSDPL46C, includes the best design features present on the two lesser models, with a few nice additions. As a result, there’s slight bulk when it comes to size and weight, but it remains highly portable at 0.9kg, 1.57m extended and 48.2cm collapsed. It also supports a lesser load of 32kg, but that goes beyond even a sizeable DSLR and telephoto set-up.

An Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate enables fast and simple attachment and removal of kit, while also making it compatible with a broader range of products. Next, there’s a levelling base, offering 20° of tilt movement in all directions as well as 360° panning with a built-in pan scale. There’s also a built-in levelling ball which, in conjunction with the monopod’s bubble level, makes maintaining a level frame simple. The professional option is priced at £190.

All three monopods feature a carry case with shoulder strap for easy portability.
