The Lumix G9 II offers budding videographers flexible framing, slow motion and shake correction for shooting on-the-go
Panasonic has revealed its latest releases – the Lumix G9 II and two Leica lenses. Tipped as the brands ‘most advanced Micro Four Thirds’ camera, it has phase detection autofocus and a live MOS sensor. It is geared towards the next generation of photographers and videographers, the launch appeals to a wide range of shooting situations.
In line with the ever-evolving demands of creative photography and videography, G9 II promises high-resolution, high-quality images and rich colours straight from the camera. Panasonic has applied its expertise in recognition technology to incorporate phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and a high-speed shooting mode, providing the opportunity for improved power and performance. Focussed on flexibility, the G9 II appeals to creators from various fields.
The new 25.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor and new engine facilitate rich colour tones and when combined with the PDAF, is capable of tracking fast-moving objects clearly. Burst shooting at 60fps in AFC and SH pre-burst recording options are available to ensure the decisive moment in the action is not missed.
Panasonic has worked to improve its image stabilisation, by combining 8-stop body image stabiliser (B.I.S), 7.5-stop 5-axis dual I.S. 2, and advanced Active I.S. for increased video image stabilisation. These features provide greater support for handheld shooting.
Pricing and availability
The Lumix G9 II will be available in November 2023 and will be priced at £1699.
