Delkin introduces new CFexpress memory card with pSLC flash technology

Posted on May 1, 2024

Delkin has announced the launch of the Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards, introducing pSLC flash technology into their product lineup

The new range is aimed at improving storage capabilities for professional photographers and videographers, by offering reliable and robust storage solutions.

The Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards use pseudo single-level cell (pSLC) flash. This flash technology enjoys some of the durability and speed benefits of the much more expensive single-level cell (SLC) flash but at a more accessible price point and with greater storage capacity.

Delkin says the increased speed and longevity provided by pSLC flash could translate into fewer card failures and less downtime due to memory card issues.

Advantages of pSLC flash

The pSLC flash in the Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 cards offers several enhancements over other flash types:

  • Speed: pSLC flash can read and write faster than triple-level cell (TLC) and quad-level cell (QLC) flash
  • Durability: The lifespan of pSLC flash ranges from 7,000 to 28,000 terabytes written (TBW), which is substantially higher than the 300 to 2,000 TBW typical of other flash memories
  • Heat management: These cards generate less heat, which helps maintain consistent performance over time

Black CFexpress Type B 4.0 memory cards are now available to buy, visit the Delkin website for more information.
