Black and White Photography Awards 2024 winners announced

The Black and White Photography Awards 2024 has unveiled its winners, marking the competition’s most successful edition to date
Now in its third year, the contest received nearly 5,000 submissions from photographers worldwide and culminated on World Photography Day, 19 August, where Haikun Liang emerged as the Absolute Winner with his captivating image, “Destroy together” (shown above).
This powerful image depicts a vibrant scene from the Chinese Spring Festival and earned Liang a €1,000 prize, sponsored by SanDisk.
László Tóth claimed the Special Prize for Creativity with his innovative piece, “Spiral to the tower,” featuring a striking spiral formation of birds (below).
Other category winners include Florian Kriechbaumer for Architecture, Zhenhuan Zhou for Street, Van Dong Nguyen for Portrait, Anup Shah for Fauna and Flora, and Matteo Strassera for Landscape. Each category winner received €150 and access to advanced AI-based editing tools.
With participation records shattered and prize values exceeding €5,500, the Black and White Photography Awards exceeded expectations and is already looking ahead to the 2025 edition.
