3 Legged Thing launches dedicated L-bracket for Canon R7

Posted on May 28, 2024

British tripod manufacturer, 3 Legged Thing, has released the Riley, a specialised L-bracket designed for the Canon EOS R7 mirrorless camera

Building on the popularity of their Roxie L-bracket for the Canon R5 and R6, this latest model aims to cater specifically to R7 users.

Design

The Riley is constructed from aerospace-grade magnesium alloy, offering a single-piece design that fits the Canon EOS R7, while providing complete access to the battery compartment and side ports.

The L-bracket is compatible with the Arca-Swiss system and features a QD (quick detach) port at its base for users who prefer quick-release straps and similar accessories.

Functionality

The Riley is designed to facilitate rapid transitions between portrait and landscape orientations while maintaining the same focal plane and ensuring the camera’s weight is balanced centrally on the tripod.

It also offers extra mounting points on its base and upright sections for accessory arms, lights, monitors, and other attachments. This will be popular with macro and product photographers, as well as time-lapse creators and videographers.

The vertical component of the Riley includes a cut-out that allows users to tilt and position the rear screen of the EOS R7 and a small front lip prevents the L-bracket from twisting when mounted.

Price and availability

The Riley is available in Copper (orange) and Darkness (matte black), and is priced at £89.99 / US $99.99. For further information, visit 3LeggedThing.com.
