AGO Home Film Processor released in UK

Posted on Aug 15, 2024

New device brings home film development to enthusiast and professional photographers

Capix has announced the AGO, a semi-automatic home film processor, is now available to photographers in the UK. This new device aims to facilitate professional film development within a home setting.

Capix tells us that the AGO is designed to fit easily into the home and is intended to replicate the traditional darkroom experience, while incorporating modern features for improved convenience and efficiency.

AGO features

The AGO is capable of developing various types of film, including B&W, C-41, E-6, ECN-2, and RA4 paper. It is compatible with the Paterson Super System 4, which allows it to process different film formats and tank sizes, including up to an 8-reel 35mm film tank.

The processor includes an automatic system that manages film agitation, prompts chemical changes, and offers pre-set programmes tailored to different film-developer combinations. A notable feature is the time compensation function, which adjusts processing times based on the temperature of the chemicals, aiming to ensure the most consistent results.

The AGO also offers a manual mode, giving photographers full control over development times and methods if required.

The device allows you to choose between horizontal rotational agitation, which Capix claims can reduce chemical usage by up to 60% or vertical mode, which is designed for more precise film development.

AGO price and availability

The AGO is currently available for purchase across the UK and Ireland at a price of £450. More information is available at the Capix website.
