Bryn Griffiths hits the heights
Bryn Griffiths becomes the only current UK photographer to hold a Master QEP Award
The Federation of European Photographers (FEP) is composed of a network of 33 national professional photographic associations from 29 countries. In the UK, it is the BIPP that is the link to the FEP. The FEP has several qualifications for iits members, EP, QEP and Master QEP – see the FEP website for more detail on these. It is the Master QEP that photographer Bryn Giffiths has achieved and he is currently the only UK pro with that distinction. He achieved it with the help of a portfolio of L.Type prints made by LumeJet. Bryn commented: “I’m over the moon to have achieved my photographic career’s life-long ambition in being awarded the MQEP, and owe a huge debt of thanks to LumeJet for its incredible L.Type prints which made a significant difference in supporting my successful submission. I would strongly recommend that any photographer who seeks the best must try L.Type”. For more details please see the press release below:
Bryn Griffiths Becomes the Only Current UK Photographer to Hold a Master QEP Award
LumeJet Print Technologies Limited is delighted to announce that Bryn Griffiths, professional photographer and Hasselblad Master Winner, has become the only UK based photographer to currently hold Master QEP (Qualified European Photographer) status, achieved whilst using stunning ultra-high photonic print quality of L.Type by LumeJet for his submission portfolio.
Awarded by the Federation of European Photographers (FEP) for reaching an exceptionally high standard whilst demonstrating remarkable technical and artistic excellence within the image making profession, the Master QEP is Europe’s highest professional photography accolade.
The recently launched L.Type by LumeJet is the latest step in the company’s development and represents the culmination of over 15 years of research into silver halide. L.Type printing applies 21st century digital technology to a century-old medium allowing faithful replication of a photographer’s vision with hitherto unseen precision and sensitivity.
LumeJet has always been passionate about printing beautiful photography and now with L.Type the fusion of classic analogue silver halide materials, cutting–edge digital print technology and super-accurate colour management mean that the company is able to offer the next generation of quality print to discerning professionals and enthusiasts who demand the best in natural, accurate printing that can make a real difference in situations where the level of required photo print quality simply cannot be compromised.
Earlier this year, Bryn was also commissioned to produce a series of work for the ‘Hasselblad Masters vol.4 – Evolve’ initiative. The resulting book, “Chernobyl My Sweet”, was also produced on L.Type by LumeJet.
The precision and quality of L.Type enabled Bryn’s book to showcase pin-sharp text alongside his compelling photographs, resulting in the creation of a stunning lay-flat book that truly attained a superior level of quality.
Bryn continued: “I was blown away when I first saw my L.Type book. I seek perfection and I was delighted that the book not only lived up to but exceeded my expectations. The L.Type format made my work stand out like never before, which made me immensely proud. The quality of the images was spectacular, and was head and shoulders above any other digital print I have previously seen.
“The clarity of the images, solid blocks of colour and amazingly clear text within the book were extremely impressive – it just couldn’t have been reproduced by any other method and achieve the same level of quality. Using L.Type prints for both my book and MQEP submission has been a revelation”.
