Canon introduces RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM

Canon has announced the release of its latest lens, the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM, designed for the EOS R system
Canon tells us this new zoom lens offers a constant f/2.8 aperture, aiming to deliver enhanced image quality across a range of shooting conditions without adding significant weight or bulk to a photographer’s kit.
With its standard zoom range and wide constant aperture, the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM is intended to cater for various photography genres, including portrait, street and travel.

Weighing 490g and measuring 92.2mm in length when retracted, the lens is lightweight and compact for its class. The lens also features optical image stabilisation, rated at 5.5 stops of correction, to aid in capturing sharper images under challenging conditions.
The RF 28-70mm F2.8 IS STM consists of 15 elements in 12 groups with two UD and two Aspherical elements. It includes a customisable control/focus ring and is weather-sealed for durability.
