Celebrating print at the Fujifilm My Life Exhibition

We attended the grand opening of the Fujifilm My Life exhibition, which features 11,000 photographs from the British public.

Taking place at The Old Truman Brewery in Spitalfields, London, the initiative brings together a diverse collection of images. Sprawled across two floors of warehouse space in one of London’s coolest neighbourhoods, the aim of the exhibition is to encourage photographers to use print to immortalise their images in a digital age when photographs can be all-too-easily forgotten.

The My Life Exhibition has the next generation of UK photographers at its heart, teaming up with charity partner, The Mix, which provides support to those aged 25 and under who are struggling with a variety of things, from money and unemployment through to drugs and mental health.

The cocktail and canape launch night provided a perfect introduction to the event, allowing plenty of time to browse the images and learn about the wonder of print, all to set against a soundtrack created by DJ Josh Parkinson. It was even possible to dress up and pose in front of a professional photographer, then print the images immediately as a fun memento.

The My Life Exhibition is open to the public for just four days until 27 October and, in addition to the thousands of images, offers plenty to get involved with, including printing stations, demos, photo walks and workshops.

The exhibition is open from 11am to 8pm, Thursday to Saturday, and 11am to 6pm on Sunday. For more information, visit the website here.
