See the winners of the unique photography competition illustrating how essential concrete has become to human life
One of the greatest skills an artist can possess is recognising beauty in anything – but is concrete a stretch too far? Judging by the remarkable winning entries in Concrete in Life 2023, it’s quite the opposite.
This competition attracted 21,000 submissions from around the world, depicting concrete in all its guises and glory – from skyscrapers and sports centres to skateparks.
Saeed Rezvanian’s striking image of a boy flying a kite on the steps of the Teopanzolco Cultural Center in Mexico was selected as the overall winner, scoring a $10,000 cash prize.
Other winners included Owen Davies, Andre Hidayat Arrasuli, Alexander Arregui Leszczynska, AP Hari Wibowo and Muhammad Nurudin, who was presented with the people’s vote prize for his image of the Bali Mandara Toll Road in Bali juxtaposed against the vibrant green of a mangrove plantation.
