Formatt Hitech introduces all-new Firecrest Cine Superslim filters

Posted on Nov 26, 2021

The filters deliver extreme resolution and can be used in a custom frame with existing ARRI LMB standard Matte Boxes and by themselves in clip Matte Boxes such as the Bright Tangerine Misfit Kick or Small Rig compact Matte Box

Following the success of the Firecrest Cine Superslim IRND filter series, which were launched last year and quickly became one of the most popular filters on the market, Formatt Hitech has launched a range of superslim diffusion and clear optical flat filters, available in densities 1/8 and 1/4. The range comprises industry favourite Supermist Filters, plus additional filters that expand the creative options available to filmmakers. Their thin size allows users to combine filters by stacking in the same frame, saving on space and minimising ghosting.

For filmmakers on a budget, Firecrest Cine Superslim is the most affordable system on offer from Formatt Hitech. All Formatt Hitech filters are handcrafted in the UK and are made from the highest quality Schott b270i optical glass and using Formatt Hitech’s unique bonding, lapping and polishing techniques to produce extreme resolution and protection against potential damage.

The filters measure 4×6.65” and are ultra-thin at just 2mm thick compared to traditional 4mm filters. This makes them a great option for those working with drones, gimbals, and other weight-restricted set-ups.

You can purchase the filters directly from Formatt Hitech for £147.41. For more information, visit Formatt-Hitech’s website.
