On the one-year anniversary of Project #ShowUs, devoted to sharing a less stereotypical standard of female-identifying and non-binary beauty, Getty Images has offered support by pledging $10,000 in the form of the #ShowUs Grant.
The grant will be awarded to a commercial photographer or videographer who creates stories of women, female-identifying and non-binary individuals through their work. The winner will be chosen by a panel of industry-leading judges, based on their ability to create a compelling commercial visual narrative. The portfolio, the merit of the project and the artist’s professional ability will all be considered, as well as how the project will help to change representation in the media and advertising.
The #ShowUs Grant is open to any woman, female-identifying or non-binary commercial photographer or videographer who has been shooting for less than five years. The grant is open for applications now.
