Now in its third year, the Photo and Video Kit Hall of Fame is an innovation of MPB’s – one of the world’s leading pre-loved kit retailers – to recognise the outstanding contributions made by the very best imaging equipment; kit that has redefined the industry. A nominating committee comprising leading photographers and expert journalists shortlisted 25 products, five in each of the five categories.
This year’s ballot attracted a phenomenal response, with 117,955 votes from 105 different countries. Five lucky voters each won a Fujifilm X100V.
Leica got its first product inducted into the Hall of Fame, while DJI’s Mavic took the Game Changer category for the second year running. Fujifilm scooped two categories.
“I’m delighted by this year’s response,” says Matt Barker, CEO and founder of MPB. “Each year, the Hall of Fame gets bigger and bigger. This year’s votes have exceeded the past two combined, which is an incredible achievement and testament to how much excitement and debate there is around the best photo and video kit. We launched the Photo and Video Kit Hall of Fame to give visual creatives around the world an exciting way to engage in their passion, with a chance to immortalise their favourite kit. The votes are an attestation of the love people have for camera kit.”
