Leica Q2 joins the Q range

The second addition to Leica’s Q range has a variety of newly developed features including dust and water sealing

The Leica Q2 boasts a newly developed 47.3-megapixel, full-frame sensor that delivers 95% more resolution than the Leica Q. Its Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens features a digital zoom that extends to 75mm and users also have the option to apply a crop factor to simulate images at 35mm, 50mm or 70mm.

The Q2 also sees the addition of 4K video with the ability to record at 3840×2160 at frame rates of 30 or 24fps, or in Full HD at 120, 60, 30 or 24fps. Other developments include a high-resolution OLED viewfinder, an AF that can focus in less than 0.15 seconds and 10fps continuous shooting at the full 47.3-megapixel resolution.

Known for its attention to design, the Q2 embodies the Leica ethos of ‘reduction to the essentials’ and the ‘Made in Germany’ seal of quality, guaranteeing that its construction has been made with the finest and most resilient materials. This model has a sophisticated diamond pattern on its leather trim and a thumb rest to offer optimum grip to users. It also has a dust and water seal for when shooting in rough weather conditions. A range of accessories is also available which includes leather protectors, carrying straps and a new line of soft-coated canvas pouches.

The Leica Q2 is on sale now with a recommended retail price of £4,250.
