Manfrotto introduces three modular designs for the MOVE Ecosystem

Posted on Oct 5, 2021

MOVE products boast flexible configurations that increase on-set efficiency and empower dynamic creators

Manfrotto has just announced three new modular designs that promote smooth workflows in fast paced creative environments. These designs all form part of Manfrotto’s wider MOVE collection which enables rapid transitions between equipment for maximum efficiency on set.

The MOVE Quick Release (QR) system allows users to switch between tripods, motion control gear and stabilisers in a matter of seconds. Users can create a universal connector type using a uniform Base and Plate setup across all camera systems and their various supports. This will allow camera operators to quickly switch between equipment without having to change plates. Designed with a universal 3/8” thread connector and a 1/4″ adaptor, MOVE’s QR system is compatible with most camera equipment and supports. Key features include Manfrotto’s new X LOCK system which applies an intuitive twist locking mechanism to ensure maximum rigidity across the equipment. The MOVE QR catcher clicks automatically into place at any angle thanks to its in-built 360° range of motion single gesture technology. Constructed using slimline anodized aluminium, the catcher weighs an impressively light 220g, minimising the need to make weight considerations whilst on set.

Next to be announced from Manfrotto’s modular MOVE Ecosystem is the Gim-Pod, a lightweight solution that enables you to transition to a stationary tripod from motion using a Gimboom without detaching the camera rig. Designed with twist locking legs and an aluminium slimline frame, the Gim-Pod can be significantly reduced in size for easy storage and great transportability. External accessories can be attached to the Gim-Pod’s legs using a universal 3/8” thread connector, making it a highly versatile piece of kit that can be adapted to the needs of the shoot.

The third product to be announced is the Gimbal 300XM, which Manfrotto claims is the first modular stabiliser. It features a modular design that allows flexible configurations according to the needs of the creator. For example, the remote-control handle can be removed and attached to other Manfrotto equipment such as the Gimboom, allowing users to extend their stabilised shooting radius to just over two metres. Wireless technology allows users to create a fully remote shooting system by mounting the gimbal head on tripods and sliders. Universal 3/8” thread connectors can be utilised with a Manfrotto 501PL standard profile mount to be compatible with industry leading plates standards. Professional level functionality is delivered by the 300XM’s upgraded hardware and software. Videomakers can easily mark shooting points with the electronic multifunction knob to replicate shots with precision.
