Mikaton Speedmaster 80mm f/1.6 lens announced

The Mikaton Speedmaster 80mm f/1.6 is a manual focus medium format prime lens available for GFX and XCD mounts

Image quality

The lens is constructed with 10 elements in 6 groups, including 4 High Refractive Index (HRI) and 1 Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) elements.

ZY Optics tells us this construction minimises chromatic aberrations and meets the demands of high-resolution medium format sensors.

Maximum aperture is f/1.6 and uses a nine-blade rounded diaphragm, designed to deliver pleasing bokeh.

Design and durability

The lens enjoys a metal body for increased durability and features a built-in retractable lens hood. It measures 83mm(d)x83.2mm(h) and weighs 850g (GFX mount) and 900g (XCD mount).
