Sony World Photography Awards honours Nadav Kander
The award-winning photographer will be honoured at a London awards’ ceremony for his significant impact on photography
Nadav Kander has been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award in the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards, culminating in a large selection of his work being presented at the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Nadav’s award-winning work spans commercial, portraiture, figurative and landscapes. Some of his works are housed in public collections, such as the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.

Talking about his award, Nadav Kander said: “To be the 2019 Outstanding Contribution to Photography recipient is a great accolade, because it hints at one being an inspiration and I don’t think there’s a compliment greater than that. I feel honoured to be in the same company as the previous recipients and if I have inspired people to dig deeper and to photograph authentically then I’m doubly honoured. I’d also like to thank Sony and the World Photography Organisation for this platform, it really is very generous.”

Nadav’s work will be presented as part of the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House, 18 April to 6 May. Nadav will also be honoured at the London Awards ceremony on 17 April, where he will receive his award and also be interviewed by William A Ewing in a public talk.
