New Laowa wide angle lenses for Nikon Z and Canon RF cameras
The Laowa 15mm f/2 is the widest f/2 lens for Nikon Z & Canon RF mount cameras, while the Laowa 10-18mm is the widest full-frame zoom lens for Nikon Z mount cameras
The Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D is available in both Nikon Z and Canon RF mounts. The new lens is currently the widest f/2 rectilinear native lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras. This compact and lightweight lens comprises 12 elements in nine groups, with two pieces of aspherical elements and three pieces of extra-low dispersion elements.
Photographers can also take advantage of the super-close focusing distance (less than 15.2cm from the sensor) and the f/2 aperture to create some wide angle close-up shots with pleasing bokeh.
Despite the extreme specifications, Venus Optics has successfully minimised the size of the lens to only 0.5kg and 7.6cm long. The flat front surface design allows photographers to use a 72mm circular filter with ease.
Unlike the 15mm f/2, the 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Zoom lens is only available in Nikon Z mount. It is currently the widest full-frame zoom lens in the market with a 102° (18mm) to 130° (10mm) field of view. The lens comprises of 14 elements in ten groups, with two aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element. It comes with a strong close-up performance and is able to focus as close as 15.2cm from the sensor.
The 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 is also compact in size, measuring 8.9cm long and weighing 0.5kg, making it the smallest in its class.
Both lenses are currently available to order and ship, with a US RRP of $849 each (without tax), though pricing may vary in different countries.
