Olympus releases 2x Teleconverter and OM-D firmware updates
The M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20 will be available next month and is compatible with Olympus Pro telephoto lenses
The M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20 can be attached to the Olympus M.Zuiko 300mm f/4 IS Pro lens, 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro lens and will also be available with the 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25x IS Pro lens, which is currently in development. The M.Zuiko Digital 2x Teleconverter MC-20 will be on sale from July with a recommended price of £399.99.
Olympus has also announced new firmware updates for its OM-D models. The first release is for the OM-D E-M1 Mark II. Firmware version 3.0 adds improvements to the camera’s autofocus performance utilising the OM-D E-M1X’s autofocus algorithm, reduced noise at high ISO settings and the ability to shoot at -6.0 EV when using an f/1.2 aperture lens.
For the OM-D E-M1X, Olympus has released firmware version 1.1, which offers USB RAW Data Edit with the free Olympus Workspace image editing software. Olympus Workspace version 1.1 has the addition of Focus Stacking added for compositing up to 999 shots, a new Lighten Composite and Darken Composite feature, and faster RAW processing.
