Panasonic launches new 20-60mm lens

Posted on May 27, 2020

The 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens is a compact and versatile option for Lumix S series cameras.

Panasonic’s latest offering in the way of optics is the 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6, designed in L-Mount for Lumix S series full-frame mirrorless bodies. Covering focal lengths from wide into standard, the new lens weighs 350g and features a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m (max magnification 0.43x), making it a promising all-rounder.

Thanks to a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing, the 20-60mm is a strong choice for video, pairing well with the series’ video powerhouses like the S1H. For even more versatility, the lens is dust- and splash-resistant, and capable of operating down to -10°C.

Inside, the new addition comprises 11 elements in nine groups, with two aspherical lenses, three extra-low dispersion lenses and an ultra-high refractive index lens for increased performance and uniform quality edge to edge.

The new Lumix S 20-60mm lens is available to purchase at an RRP of £619 from July. For more information, please visit the Panasonic website.
