Panasonic releases world’s smallest and lightest full-frame zoom

Posted on Oct 8, 2024

Panasonic has introduced the Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 lens, now noted as the world’s smallest and lightest zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras

Compatible with the L-Mount system, the S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 is designed to complement the LUMIX S9 camera, supporting both photography and video applications.

Weighing around 155 grams, this lens provides a focal range from 18mm to 40mm, covering both ultra-wide and standard perspectives. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m, the lens can also be used for macro applications.

For video use, it includes technology to limit focus breathing, minimising shifts in framing during focusing.

Built to withstand dust, splashes and freezing temperatures, the lens is also coated for enhanced durability in varied shooting environments.
