Profoto goes small and simple with the Profoto Connect

Meet the Profoto Connect: the button-free trigger that makes things simple

Profoto has announced the Profoto Connect, a button-free trigger that makes things simple. This compact trigger attaches to the hotshoe of your camera and offers three simple settings: auto, manual and off. The auto mode works with TTL flash, automatically calculating the correct flash exposure when you press your camera’s shutter, while manual mode lets you take control by adjusting the power on your flash unit. The Profoto Connect is also compatible with the Profoto app, allowing you to adjust the power output on your flash unit.

“Profoto Connect came from a steadfast belief that flash can be every bit as beautiful as ambient light,” commented Martina Nillenstedt, Profoto head of content and brand. “What we needed to do was make it more accessible to more image creators – Profoto Connect does that – from today forward, working with flash couldn’t be easier.”

Albert Norelius, Profoto product manager explained: “When we sat down and talked with photographers, we recognised that all the buttons and menus you find on a typical remote trigger can seem a little complex – so we decided to get rid of them completely.”

The Profoto Connect weighs just 43g and measures 45x29mm and is recommended for us with the Profoto A1. The trigger is available in Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm and Olympus fits with a price of £259 +VAT.
