Profoto OCF Adapter impresses

Posted on Dec 8, 2020

Since its launch in 2017, one tiny Profoto OCF Adapter, the A1, has been especially popular among professional image-makers and high-level enthusiasts. Alongside the A1X and the relatively new A10 lights, it is set to become an integral part of Profoto’s A-Series. While both lights offer impressive levels of performance for users, there has always been one thing that poses an annoyance. Previously, none of these flash guns have offered compatibility with the brand’s wide range of off-camera flash modifiers – until now, that is.

The ingenious Profoto OCF Adapter opens up the door to more than 50 modifiers – and with them, a world of creative potential beckons. These modifiers include soft boxes, grids, beauty dishes and more. That means there’s something to suit virtually any requirement.

Besides that, the robustly designed adapter is easy to mount and use, according to the brand. A stand adapter is included in the box, plus there’s an integrated umbrella mount. Compatibility with all OCF lightshaping tools and any type of Profoto A-Series flash is also guaranteed. For the privilege of this explosion of creativity and user-friendly functionality, the Profoto A1 sets the user back £224.
