Rode Debuts Trio of Products for Mobile Content Creators at NAB 2024
Posted on Apr 15, 2024
Rode introduced three new products aimed at mobile content creators at the NAB 2024 show: the Interview Pro microphone, the Phone Cage, and the Magnetic Mount
Aimed squarely at mobile filmmakers, podcasters, and those involved in other forms of digital content creation, these products are evidence of the company’s efforts to appeal to this burgeoning sector. Here’s a rundown.
Interview Pro Microphone
The Interview Pro is a handheld condenser microphone designed for compatibility with Rode’s Series IV wireless systems. It features 2.4GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption, for audio transmissions over distances up to 200 meters.
The microphone incorporates a professional-grade condenser capsule for high-quality voice reproduction and utilises Rode’s GainAssist technology, which automatically balances audio levels and reduces the risk of clipping.
It also features 32-bit float on-board recording and 32GB of internal memory for decent on-board capacity. Rode says the microphone is engineered for a range of content creation activities, from field interviews to podcasting.
Phone Cage
The Phone Cage is designed as a comprehensive mounting system for smartphone filmmakers, with 33 mounting threads and five cold shoe slots for attaching audio, lighting, and other filmmaking accessories.
The Phone Cage uses a magnetic mounting system, aimed at securely holding MagSafe-compatible iPhones, smartphone cases and accessories. Additionally, it’s built from high-grade aluminium, so it’s durable and lightweight.
Magnetic Mount
The Magnetic Mount is designed to complement the Phone Cage as a tool for securing microphones, lights, and accessories to smartphones using a magnetic connection.
It’s good for landscape and portrait orientation and includes three removable arms for short and long cold shoe mounting and a ¼-inch thread for tripod mounting.
Availability
The Interview PRO, Phone Cage, and Magnetic Mount are available for pre-order now, with release scheduled for late April to early May 2024. For more information visit the Rode website here.
