Posted on Sep 5, 2024

Sigma has announced the release of its new 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN lens, designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras

Available in both L-Mount and Sony E-mount, this lens features a constant F2.8 aperture throughout its zoom range. It weighs just under 1kg and is being marketed as a portable option for photographers who need to the versatility of a wide-angle to medium telephoto zoom range.

The lens is constructed of 18 elements in 13 groups, including including FLD, SLD and aspherical components. The autofocus system is powered by SIGMA’s High-response Linear Actuator (HLA), which promises fast and precise focusing. Sigma says it has also been designed to minimise lens breathing, which is great news for videographers.

The 28-105mm F2.8 DG DN is constructed with a dust- and splash-resistant design and includes a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, aimed at improving durability in outdoor shooting environments.

Additional features include a de-clickable aperture ring, a zoom lock switch to prevent lens creep, and two customisable AFL buttons.

The lens will be available from 26 September 2024, with a retail price of £1,399 in the UK. For more information, visit the Sigma website.
