Sony G Master™ 300mm telephoto lens in development

Posted on Jan 18, 2023

A 300mm telephoto is set to join the G Master™ line up in 2024. Here’s all you need to know

Sony announces the development of G Master™ 300mm F2.8 telephoto full-frame E-mount lens, set for launch in early 2024.

So, what do we know so far? It’s a large aperture super-telephoto lens, like the FE 400mm F2.8 GM OSS and FE 600mm F4 GM OSS, both of which are revered by sports and wildlife photographers. The lightweight design comes into play.

The 300mm F2.8 will feature remarkable high-resolution and spectacular bokeh, trademark of the flagship G Master™ series lenses, while incorporating the far-reaching focal length and large aperture. This combination aims to provide an elevated shooting experience for all professional sports, news and event photographers and videographers who need to capture the action.

Sony continues to expand its attractive lens line-up to meet the demands and maximise the creative possibilities for all types of creators, expanding the realm of artistic expression.

We’re keeping an ear to the ground for the full specs, but additional details will be released at a later date.

See Sony website for other products.
