Sony introduces new 50mm f1.2 lens

Posted on Mar 16, 2021

Sony’s newest E-mount lens is designed with professional content creators in mind

The newest addition to Sony’s Alpha System, the FE 50mm F1.2 G Master is a full-frame lens that delivers the excellent resolution and dramatic bokeh that we have come to expect from the brand’s G Master series.

The lens includes three XA (extreme aspherical) elements, ensuring high resolution edge to edge – even when fully opened at f1.2. Sony’s Nano AR Coating II minimizes internal reflections, reducing flare and ghosting to offer impressive clarity even in backlit scenes. And, thanks to the newly developed eleven-blade circular aperture unit and fine-tuned optical design that minimises spherical aberration, the lens is capable of producing smooth bokeh effects.

The FE 50mm F1.2 GM is available from April onwards, and will be sold at Sony-authorised dealers for approximately £2,100. Full product information can be found at sony.co.uk/electronics/camera-lenses/sel50f12gm
