Superfast Standard

Posted on Jan 7, 2022

Laowa’s latest introduction to its Argus family of full-frame lenses is a 45mm standard boasting a f/0.95 maximum aperture

With its natural perspective, incredibly fast maximum aperture and full frame compatibility the Laowa 45mm f/0.95 FF is a manual focus lens with huge potential, especially for people photography where the shallow depth-of-field for selective focusing produces lovely soft backgrounds.

The lens has an 13 elements in nine groups construction including one aspherical lens, one ED lens and three ultra high refractive lenses to turn in a high quality optical performance even at the wider aperture values. A 15 blade diaphragm helps produce a soft dreamy background bokeh.

Other key features include a 50cm minimum focus, 72mm filter thread, an internal focusing mechanism and an aperture de-click option. It weighs 835g.

This Laowa lens is priced at £869 and available in Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony E fittings with stocks available this January.
