The Societies’ POTY 2019 winners announced

The Societies of Photographers has announced the overall winners of its monthly image competition and crowned its photographer of the year.

2019 was another successful year for The Societies of Photographers’ monthly image competition, with over 11,000 entries from all around the globe. Categories included Architectural, Fashion, Macro and more.

For a second time, the overall award of Photographer of the Year went to Dr Fong Chan Onn from Malaysia. Discussing the winning photo, judges commented, “This image and its huge impact held the judges’ attention for a long time. You can almost smell the smoke in the room. A travel image that will stand the test of time.”

Following his win, Dr Fong Chan Onn commented, “I have learnt a great deal from the judges’ decisions. What makes a good photo and what transforms it in to a great photo. This award will further inspire me to work even harder.”
