‘Tis the season for festive food photos!

Now’s your chance to enter the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition
The Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year (POTY) awards recognise the best of food photography and film, offering over 20 distinct categories from which to choose. With plentiful feasts, decorated tabletops and togetherness that often accompany the holidays, it’s an ideal time to enter the competition.
Participants can submit a maximum of five entries to any combination of categories; whether it’s stylish dishes, full spreads or meals shared with family, there’s something for every food photographer. Food Stylist, Food for Celebration, Food for the Family, Food at the Table and On the Phone are especially well-suited to the holiday season, as is Pink Lady Food POTY’s newest category, Moments of Joy. This new category invites entrants to showcase how happiness can be experienced through food, whether in its preparing, serving or consuming. Additional categories include the Student Food Photographer of the Year and Young (Under 18s), as well as Food Film Shorts, among others.

Winners of Pink Lady Food POTY 2023 will receive a cash prize of up to £5,000, a commemorative trophy and the opportunity to display their images with the Royal Photographic Society. The awards also attract global media attention, giving finalists exposure across the photographic industry and beyond. Last year’s images saw coverage from the BBC, Forbes, National Geographic, CNN and more.
Pink Lady Food POTY welcomes judges from various professional backgrounds. This year’s panelists include Ella Ravilious (Curator, The Victoria and Albert Museum), Nik Sharma (Photographer, Author and Columnist), Claire Rees (Photography Director, Bafta), Phillip Prodger (Executive Director, Curatorial Exhibitions, Los Angeles) and Rein Skullerud (Head of Photo Unit, World Food Programme). Food photographer David Loftus is the Chair of Judges at the 2023 awards.
