Vote: Comedy Wildlife Awards 2022

Posted on Oct 28, 2022

Have your say of the most entertaining snaps from the natural world, while supporting global conservation

Photographs capture memorable moments, whether impactful, emotional or unfortunate. The Comedy Wildlife Awards brings some light-hearted energy to the world of photography, which can often be rather serious. Sponsored by Serif, the votes are now open for the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award, which also offers the public the chance to be entered into a free prize draw to win £500.

This year’s shortlist of 40 images and 10 portfolio entries includes a superhero squirrel, a waving raccoon, and a cheeky fox giving the camera a wink. The judges have selected these photos from thousands submitted by both amateur and professional photographers from around the word. This years’ panel is made up of wildlife photographers and experts including Kate Humble, Will Travers OBE and Daisy Gilardini, and actors/comedians including Hugh Dennis and Russell Kane.

Founded in 2015, the Awards aims to create a competition that focused on the humorous side of wildlife, while promoting conservation at its heart. Each year, it supports a sustainable conservation organisation – this year it’s the Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN), a UK charity that supports conservation leaders working in their home countries across the Global South. In its 29 years, it has channelled over £20million to more than 200 conservationists in 80 countries. WFN’s Whitley Awards recognises courageous changemakers leading local solutions to the global biodiversity and climate crises.

Voting is now open for members of the public to choose which photo made them laugh the most in the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award. The public can cast their vote to be in with a chance to win that coveted £500! Vote online at http://www.comedywildlifephoto.com/ until 27 November 2022.

Champions will be announced 8 December, with the top photographer winning an incredible one-week safari with Alex Walker’s Serian in the Masai Mara, Kenya as well as a unique handmade trophy from the Art Garage in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
