Adobe launches $1 million fund

Posted on May 4, 2020

Adobe has launched the Creative Residency Community Fund to support creatives worldwide.

This year, due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the creative community has a more extensive need for support than ever. In response, Adobe has announced that it’s offering $1 million in the form of the Creative Residency Community Fund.

The fund will support many creatives throughout 2020 with payments of $500 to $5000 (roughly £400 to £4000). Creatives can either receive funding for personal projects or be hired for Adobe-commissioned projects. In addition to the payment, recipients will get additional support from Adobe including a Creative Cloud membership and career guidance workshops.

The fund is open to applications now. Apply online here.

Adobe has also announced this year’s Creative Residents. The scheme, introduced in 2015, offers professionals starting their career the ability to experiment and pursue a creative project for an entire year.

The Adobe Creative Residency has grown significantly since it began, but has been restructured this year in light of the community fund. In 2020, Maddy Beard and Christina Poku will be the only two residents.

Maddy is exploring the use of interaction design to promote mindfulness in daily life in a time when people are increasingly reliant on technology, while Christina is investigating the idea of technology as abundance and how it can create growth, build community and change barriers to access.
