Have you taken part in our reader photo competition yet? If not, what are you waiting for?

For the last few months, we’ve been running a social media reader photo competition, giving you the chance to share your work and see it featured on our social channels, the Photography News website and perhaps even in print.

To take part, upload your photos on Twitter or Instagram, tag us using @photonewspn and use the hashtag #PNpicme. It’s as simple as that!

Damjan Voglar

Damjan was our first ever winner with this fantastic photo captured in the Sahara Desert. This excellent composition and expert use of hard light stood out among many worthy contenders, but for the PN team, there was a clear winner.

Darrell Godliman

Darrell won the second round of #PNpicme with this superb and most unusual shot, entitled Take a break. The PN team agree that this photo perfectly captures an otherwise ordinary moment and transforms it entirely.

John Scales

This round of #PNpicme fell during a difficult time for photographers, and indeed, everyone else. With very few photographic opportunities, we need to be imaginative and create our own wherever we can, and that’s exactly what John has done in his winning photograph. This simple yet effective shot of a water droplet balanced on dandelion seed could easily be done at home with whatever variation you desire. In John’s case, a fuchsia gerbera – seen in clear focus inside the droplet – was used as a backdrop to stunning effect.
