Fujifilm launches X100V

Posted on Feb 5, 2020

Fujifilm is expanding its line of premium digital compacts with the unveiling of X100V.

At its heart, the new addition features the latest generation 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4, which promise incredible image quality – but that’s not all.

One significant update includes the X100V’s newly designed 23mm f/2 lens, offering better resolution and lower distortion compared to those of previous X100 models. The lens is still extremely compact, compatible with legacy WCL/TCL conversion lenses and retains its internal 4-stop ND filter.

The camera’s viewfinder has also been upgraded. Users can switch between a 0.52x magnification OVF and a 3.69M-dot OLED EVF. The former provides parallax-correcting frame lines, while the latter offers 95% frame coverage. An electronic rangefinder function also features.

For the first time in an X100 camera, the X100V offers weather-resistance when used with the AR-X100 adapter ring and PRF-49 protection filter. A two-way tilting, touch-control LCD is another first.

Video shooters will also be pleased with the X100V’s ability to record in 4K up to 30fps and capture 120fps slow motion at 1080p, while 10-bit 4:2:2 recording is supported via HDMI.

The Fujifilm X100V is available in silver from 27 February and in black from 12 March, both priced at £1299.

A leather case can be purchased for £79.99 and the weather-resistance kit is priced at £99.99 or £49.50 when bought with the camera.
