Near, far, wherever you are…. Capture the beauty of the South Downs

Posted on May 3, 2022

National Park’s photography competition is back for 2022 and the theme is distance; near or far, you can win up to £250!

Are you a photographer with a penchant for capturing the artistry of the open plaines, a glimpse of a doe-eyed deer, or a magnificent hawk in flight? If so, enter this year’s National Park’s competition.

They are looking for close-ups of nature at its most captivating with intricate detail, or dramatic expanses illustrating the true majesty of the South Downs. Whether rivers, woodland, hills, skies, villages, or historic buildings are your thing, it is the composition that will be judged. You will also be sticking to the brief if you combine both near and far – so snap to your hearts content!

This year also sees the introduction of the ‘best mobile photo’ category, opening the doors for smartphoneographers who could win £75. The youth competition will return with prizes for Go Ape up for grabs, for categories 10 and under, and 11-17.

This year’s panel consists of Rachael Talibart, Finn Hopson and Carlotta Luke who will be considering each entry on their individual merit.

First prize is £250, runner-up is £150 and third place is £75.

Entries close at midnight on Monday 31st October – plenty of time to get the perfect shot.
