Rotolight introduces Titan X2

Posted on Sep 17, 2019

The new LED is the brightest 2×1 soft light ever made and comes with a host of industry firsts.

The new Titan X2 has been hailed as ‘ground-breaking’ by Rotolight, and with more than a few industry-first features, they may just be right. In addition to its impressive power, Rotolight promises excellent performance across the CCT spectrum from 3000K to 10,000K and flicker-free lighting at any shutter angle or intensity.

One particularly impressive feature is Rotolight’s new SmartSoft technology, which allows users to adjust the Titan X2’s diffusion, focus and spread, eliminating the need for gels. When it comes to colour, the Titan X2 also has users covered, as the light features a library of over 1300 industry-standard gel colours, accessible with just the touch of a button. There are five lighting modes in total: CCT, HSI, RGBW, XY and Filter.

Going deeper into usability, the Titan X2 features a full-colour touchscreen display with what’s promised to be an easy-to-use interface as well as quick-start icons and up to ten customisable presets. When it comes to rigging, the new light can be positioned at any angle via a variety of mounting options.

Yet another noteworthy feature is the Titan X2’s special effects. The light comes equipped with Rotolight’s award-winning suite of CineSFX, including fire, lightning, TV, gunshot and paparazzi effects and more. Unsurprisingly, these effects are more apt for video, though the Titan X2 also features a 1/8000 high-speed sync flash with zero recycle time for still photographers.

The Titan X2 is available for pre-order now and will begin shipping in November.
